Balancing machine, overview

A balancing machine is used for balancing rotating parts such as rotors for electric motors, fans, turbines, disc brakes, disc drives, propellers, pumps, generators and others. The balancing machine typically consists of two movable pedestals, with force sensors and bearings to accommodate a rotor. The rotor is rotated either with a belt-, air-, or end-drive. As the part is rotated, the centrifugal forces and phase angles are detected with piezo-electric sensors connected to the EasyBalance dynamic balancing instrumentation. The results are displayed and precisely show how much and where to add or remove mass to balance the part.
